Weymouth STW

Ocmis have recently completed the installation of a total of four SWEA screw compactors at Weymouth STW for Wessex Water.

Following initial trials by the client, the first separator was installed on the site in 1997.

During 2005 additional capacity was required due to transfers from neighbouring works. The robust construction and a history of low running costs were major factors in the decision by Wessex Water to install additional SWEA separators.

Ocmis carried out the detailed design works, with both 3D drawings and visualisations being drafted up, Ocmis were able to ensure that the most efficient layout of equipment and maintenance routes was realised.

All fabrication works were carried out, and the complete set-up pre-assembled, in-house prior to being dismantled and transported to site. Ocmis then carried out the full installation and testing works before handover to the client.

Following this successful installation a further two units are due to be added during autumn 2006.
